Xbox 360 History
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 video game console was launched as a successor to the original Xbox, in 2005. After it’s unveiling on MTV and at the Electronics Entertainment Expo in 2005, it sold out completely everywhere, except Japan.
Two of the major features of Xbox 360 are Xbox Live, which allows players to compete online and Kinect, which allows for interactive play. The Kinect device was launched in 2010 and competes directly with Wii and Playstation 3. It holds the Guinness World Record of being the fastest selling consumer electronics device. It sold 8 million units in its first 60 days. Kinect for Xbox 360 is a motion sensing device that works with a webcam, so that users can interact with the device without the need for controllers. The interaction takes the form of gestures and spoken commands.

Kinect’s Benefits
Due to Xbox Kinect’s controller free operation, users can engage in a full body workout. Translation, the game responds to the players every movement. This encourages a full range of motion when playing each aspect of the game by the use of an Avatar. The Kinect avatar is a character in the game that represents the user and it mirrors your actions. In short it is your exercise game clone. This advance makes it the perfect gaming device for people who want to combine their daily workout with their gaming time. Even though Kinect is a fairly recent entry to the market, it has a good selection of fitness focused games available.
